West Shore Court

Making Lemonade

There is a phrase, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. Well someone near the intersection of Summit and West Shore Court has embraced that philosophy.

West Shore Court is a tiny street that juts west off Summit at the northern end by Lake Erie. There are only three houses on the street. As I was approaching the intersection I began wondering if the residents could even drive out of their street. The entire area was covered by a giant construction area for the Lakewood Sewer Infrastructure Project. Fortunately, there was a small access road around the corner of the construction zone so they could exit to Edgewater Drive.

Someone had attached colorful flowers to the fence all around the perimeter. I noticed them immediately as I approached. I appreciated the effort to dress up this intrusion.

At the corner of street, I also spied a buckeye tree. Plentiful buckeyes were scattered all over the ground. To celebrate being half-way done with the lengthy list of “W” streets, I arranged 20 of them in a “W” shape. I left them on the ground for someone else to discover.
