Captain’s Cove

Aye Aye Captain

On the “About” page of this website I list the 10 reasons I’m doing this challenge. In addition to that list, this process of posting every day has created a need to be spontaneous and also have a keen attention to detail (notice the little things). Today I got to sharpen both of those skills.

As I was taking my selfie in front of the Captains Cove sign I could not get the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song out of my head (Are Ya Ready Kids?). I apologize to anyone that now has that song stuck in their head. I then thought, “I wish I had an eyepatch to wear for the selfie”. Grabbing a nearby leaf was a quick improvisation, but I think it added to the pic. I even think I have it on the same eye as the SpongeBob Captain.

Upon entering Captains Cove I immediately noticed the amazing landscape. There were moss-covered stone walls, curvy pine trees and hidden trails. I felt like I was in a Harry Potter movie. I was having difficulty finding a perfect picture to capture the moment when I saw a tiny stone hut underneath a tree. It reminded me of Hagrid’s Hut as was the just the scene I needed for my pic.

As I jogged back home in the fog I was happy to have spent a magical mysterious morning on Captains Cove. And don’t forget – “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?”.
