Secret Passage
As I entered Crest this morning I noticed you are not allowed to turn onto this street from Riverside. Several of the houses on Riverside have their garages located on Crest (pictured here), so this must be a bit annoying (unless they sneak around the corner quickly).
The only street that appears to be able to use Crest is Wayne as you head south from The Beck Center. This makes the entire street feel like the “Secret Passage” from the Lounge to the Conservatory in the game of Clue. It’s like a one-way ticket to Riverside for those living on Wayne.
The second half of the street had an alleyway vibe. As I was standing there awkwardly trying to take a selfie to capture the feeling an employee of the gas company walked by reading meters. Perfect timing! Kiante volunteered to snap the picture for me and even took a few minutes to ask me what I was up to. I continue to be happily surprised by strangers’ willingness to interact and engage, even at 7:45 in the morning. Kiante wished me a good day and set off on his morning meter reading tasks. The most unusual thing is I didn’t even notice the jogger passing by until I posted the picture this morning. I must have been too engaged in my conversation with Kiante.
