Afternoon Delight
I have always been the type of person to prefer exercising in the morning, but today may have changed my opinion. I got home this afternoon after a busy day at work and put on my winter gear to do my bike ride. The air was crisp and the sun was just starting to get low in the sky. It was about 4:30 p.m., and there was a quiet and stillness about. As I made my way uphill to Armin I found myself reflecting on my day and thinking about the evening ahead. I was almost in a meditative state. I have been doing all of my routes without listening to music or podcasts and today convinced me to keep it that way.
The calming mood continued as I turned onto Armin. I asked a 25-year resident (Lisa) that was walking around the block what she liked about the street and she said, “there are lots of young families and it’s so quiet”. Even though Armin is between Warren and Belle, I couldn’t agree more. Right on cue a teen came out of his front door to practice some street hockey. There are not many streets in Lakewood where you can do that!
