Bramley

Milestone Monday

Sometimes the journey is just as rewarding as the destination. When I set my goal to walk all the streets in Lakewood one per day I knew getting to each street and back would be part of the challenge. I didn’t want to drive, so I settled on my hybrid approach of jogging to the closer streets and biking to the ones farther away. Well as of today I hit 100 total miles travelled. Today was my longest trip so far (about 7 miles), with 80 total miles biked and 20 total miles jogged.

I am also 10% of the way done and I have lost a total of 10 pounds. Quite a few milestones in one day. I’m just shy of 10% of my Lakewood Alive fundraising goal, but I know that will come as I get closer to the end.

The most unique thing about Bramley is that NOBODY actually lives on Bramley. It is a short connector street that leads from Lakewood Heights Boulevard to the Templar Industrial Park. The only Bramley address I could find was Stanley Engineered Fastening inside the Industrial Park. The Bramley street sign had plenty of character, looking like it had been hit by more than one delivery truck. In fact one such truck was waiting for me to move as I was standing in the street to take the picture. I quickly got out of the way and biked home.
