An Easter to Remember
After an inspiring Easter Service at Church and a gluttonous Easter Brunch, I was excited to head out for my walk down Edgewater (my HOME street). To my delight, several family members joined me on the first half of my walk. My sister, her daughter, an exchange student from Poland, my parents, and my son and daughter currently living in Chicago were all in town for Easter. They all walked down to the western edge of Edgewater with me, and even organized a “tandem bike lift” to inspire me (check it out on social media). It was fun walking down the street with a big group and made today special.
Edgewater is a unique street, having four divided sections (Far West, Just West of Lakewood Park, Just East of Lakewood Park and Far East). Each section had its own vibe, and I enjoyed soaking in the feeling of each as I walked them today.
Edgewater was also the holiest street I have walked so far (pun intended). I was initially annoyed by the giant construction holes I was passing on my walk until I arrived at the fourth construction site and noticed there were giant pipes on the street shaped like easter eggs. I climbed on in for the perfect Easter Selfie.
I started feeling a little sluggish towards the end of my walk, thinking it might have been from all of the candy I had eaten earlier today. At least I didn’t pass out from a sugar-high like this family of gnomes I noticed at the corner of Edgewater and Kenneth.
