Edgewater Lane

Walk This Way

After walking Edgewater Drive yesterday afternoon on a beautiful sunny day, I was back at it this morning on a gloomy rainy morning. I jogged back over to the section of Edgewater Drive just east of Lakewood Park and found Edgewater Lane heading off to the north about a half mile from the park.

Right at the intersection of Edgewater Drive and Edgewater Lane there was a large street sign warning residents that they share the street with bikers and walkers. This is one of the few streets in Lakewood without sidewalks, and I would guess it is also one of the most walked and biked streets. I know when I travelled the full section yesterday it was filled with walkers, bikers and joggers.

There were only 6 houses on Edgewater Lane itself, and they appeared to be newer construction (1980s). For many communities the 1980s wouldn’t be “newer construction”, but for Lakewood they looked contemporary. The homes were beautiful, built on large lots with attractive landscapes.

One of the homes had solar panels across much of the roof, and I wondered how much energy they generate in Northeast Ohio. I know Lakewood Alive just had a “Knowing Your Home” educational seminar titled “Solar 101” that probably would have answered all of my questions.

I just hope it’s sunny next Monday for the SOLAR ECCLIPSE!
