Proud to be an American
As we head into the July 4th Holiday, I was happy to see so many American flags on Orchard Grove. Many of the houses had their flags already flying. In fact, I rode my bike down many other streets on my way there and home and I think Orchard Grove had them all beat. It motivated me to get out our American flag when I returned home.
There was also a cool chalk drawing in front of one of the homes. The perfect depiction of Maggie ready to give me a hug made me smile. I have passed many chalk decorations on my various adventures, but this was some truly talented artwork.
A little bit of trivia, the Simpsons is the longest running American primetime sitcom. It premiered in January of 1990, so it is on 35 seasons and counting. I guess that would make this cartoon family the most celebrated American family in the history of television, fitting for my walk on the day before the 4th of July.
