Ridgewood

Geography Trivia Night

I had a pleasant walk down Ridgewood this afternoon. It is a north-south street that runs from Detroit to Madison on the eastern side of town. I was immediately struck by the mix of old and new architecture. Several new townhomes were located near Detroit, but the house right next to them reminded me of an 1800s hotel. It had an enormous front porch with an extra-wide set of steps inviting you to step right up to the front door.

When I looked back on my pictures though I decided I could ask three geography-based trivia questions from my journey. The answers immediately follow, so don’t read ahead unless you are stumped.

  1. What type of international cuisine is featured on the southwest corner of Ridgewood and Detroit.
  2. What flag (I saw several examples of it on Ridgewood) features a red triangle on one side, with the background filled with a black, white and green stripe.
  3. What geographic shape is featured on my second picture.

The answers are:

  1. Italian – “Peppers Italian Restaurant”
  2. Palestine
  3. Kelleys Island

If you got all three of these, you are ready for Trivia Night!
