Riverside

Family Bike Ride

This was the second weekend in a row that we had a family bike ride. Last Saturday I skipped walking my street to complete the Bike Lakewood 2024 Scavenger Hunt. We had fun riding all over town taking pictures of their challenges. I hope they do it again next year.

Today my wife Amy and our two boys (Tim and Joe) joined me on my bike-walk-bike down Riverside. The start of Riverside is tucked away behind the hustle and bustle of Detroit at Edinola. I took a group selfie as we started the walking portion.

Riverside then meanders along the western border of Lakewood following the path of the Rocky River. My wife and Tim didn’t have the patience to walk their bike 2 miles, so they jumped back on their bikes and completed the street riding. Joe was the trooper that had the perseverance to complete the entire walk by my side.

I was thankful when we arrived at the top of Hogsback Lane, as Joe could serve as my photographer for my pensive pose in front of the Metroparks sign. Yesterday I wrote about the Tortoise and the Hare – I guess Joe is more of a tortoise and Amy and TIm are the hares!
