Rosewood

Serving Your Country

When I saw I was walking Rosewood this morning the first thing that came to my mind was the Armed Forces. An Armed Forces Career Center wraps around the corner of Rosewood and Detroit, with separate storefronts for the Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines. At every Lakewood High School graduation that I have attended, they always take a moment to acknowledge any graduating seniors that are joining the Armed Forces. I wonder what emotions I would have as a parent if one of my children entered the Armed Forces – I would think it would be a combination of trepidation and immense pride.

As I turned down Rosewood to walk the street, I also noticed that many homeowners had immense pride in their front yards. At least 30 of them had immaculately manicured landscaping, complete with blooming flowers and unique hardscape structures. I think the diversity and quality of the Rosewood front yards is right up there with any street in Lakewood.

I also found some inspiration for what I can do with my “Lakewood A to Z” tandem after I am finished with my challenge. I think it would make a fantastic planter in front of my office.
