Vincent O’Keefe
Historical background of street names was provided by Vincent O’Keefe, a local freelance writer with a Ph.D. in American literature. He is also a member of the Lakewood Historical Society. For more info about him, visit www.vincentokeefe.com.
His research is from Romance in Lakewood Streets, written by Margaret Manor Butler and published in 1962. In the early 1950s, she was instrumental in the founding of the Lakewood Historical Society. She is also the author of The Lakewood Story, published in 1949, which was based on her series of stories about local history for the weekly Lakewood Post.
